9:30 AM - COAVA COFFEE

Great coffee - yes. But great coffee is as common as rain in Portland. It's Coava's people watching and sparsely furnished warehouse setting that makes Coava a unique experience.

12:30 PM - UMAI FOOD CART

A tourist from Denver who visits Portland every year for the food and a local French chef. Those were the two people eating at Umai the first time I went here. That says it all.

2:00 PM - LEWIS & CLARK COLLEGE

A mix between the Ewok Village from Star Wars and an English countryside estate, with eclectic architecture to boot, the Lewis & Clark campus is both an inspiring and relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

4:00 PM - OHSU DRIVE WITH CITY VIEWS

6:30 PM - LAURELHURST MARKET

Portland restaurants have an almost uncanny ability to match restaurant and neighborhood. So get here early and take a stroll around the block, you will love Laurelhurst (the neighborhood). Then sit down for an amazing meal of steak, bone marrow, and cod fritters.
